Stranded Supply Vessel Salvage Operation

Client:Offshore Logistics Company
Location:Egyptian Coastal Waters
Date:November 2025
Duration:5 days
By Almancy Team

Recovery of a stranded supply vessel in challenging shallow water conditions, requiring specialized salvage techniques.

The Challenge

A supply vessel became stranded in shallow coastal waters during a supply run to offshore facilities. The vessel was firmly grounded with significant hull contact on the seabed. Tidal variations and the vessel's size made refloating complex, requiring careful calculation of optimal tide windows and precise weight distribution management.

Our Solution

Almancy conducted detailed bathymetric surveys and hull inspections to develop an optimal refloating plan. We used a combination of ballast water transfer, excavation around the hull, and timed high-tide pulling operations with coordinated tug assistance. Our diving team monitored the hull throughout the operation to prevent damage during the refloating process.

The Results

The supply vessel was successfully refloated on the planned high tide, with minimal hull damage. The vessel was immediately returned to service after inspection and minor repairs. The operation demonstrated our expertise in calculating complex salvage dynamics and executing time-critical marine operations.
